Peacock Fan Deco Earbobs in Silver & Marcasite

Gorgeous Art Deco earbobs, rich milgrain metalwork and glittering marcasites resemble the fan of a peacock's tail. The earrings are cast in sterling silver, then rhodium plated. The rhodium prevents the natural tarnish of silver so these earrings will not lose their shine. The ear wires are newly replaced. Circa 1930.

Marcasite is a soft greyish/silver mineral which gained popularity in the late 19th Century and became one of the most popular gems of the Art Deco era. Marcasites are especially lovely in silver where their dark sparkle plays nicely with the metal.

Details.....These earrings have a 1.08" drop from the earlobe and measure 0.67" wide. In Very Good vintage condition. You should always expect some wear on antique and vintage jewels, we consider it part of their charm.
