The last decade of the 19th Century brought symbolism and mysticism into every area of life as people contemplated the new century and what it might bring. This lovely late Victorian crescent moon is cast in rich 14k yellow gold, set with a curve of graduated natural pearls. The pearls are quite regular in shape and color. This pendant is a conversion piece, it started its life as a brooch. Our metalsmith has converted the pin to a bale and added a jump ring, making it easy to wear this wonderful pendant any way you like. Circa 1880.
Details.....The crescent measures 2.3" long and graduates from 0.4mm to 3.2mm wide. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on antique and vintage jewels, we consider it part of their charm.
