The back of the brooch is signed "Heche en Mexico 925," "Sterling Taxco," and stamped with the Mexican Eagle mark indicating sterling silver.

This brooch dates from the 1940s, a high point in Mexican jewelry design. The Mexican city of Taxco drew jewelry artists from all over the world.
