A princess length strand of pearls, hand-knotted on silk with a pearl-set sterling silver bead clasp. These cultured pearls are a creamy white with a lovely soft glow. Circa 1960.
Cultured pearls are created by adding an irritant, such as a grain of sand or small bead, to a pearl oyster to encourage it to cover the irritant in nacre, thus creating a pearl.
Details....The necklace is 16" long. The pearls measure 6.3mm in diameter. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on Vintage and Antique Jewels, we consider it a part of the charm.
