Padlock Shaped Georgian Regard Locket

This charming Georgian acrostic jewel is a locket in the shape of a padlock.  A tiny ruby, emerald, garnet, amethyst, ruby and diamond are set across the front of the 18k gold locket amongst applied grapes and grape leaves. An acrostic jewel uses a series of gemstones to communicate a secret message. The first letter of each gem spells out words such as "Dearest," "Adore," or, as in this case, "Regard." The patterned back is further adorned with rose gold discs and wire work flowers. The interior of the locket is in good, clean condition with it original frame and crystal. A beautiful antique with a sweet, sentimental history. Circa 1820.

Details.....The locket measures 1.11" by 0.79". In Very Good Antique Condition. With vintage and antique pieces, small imperfections are to be expected and considered part of the charm.
