Radiant Red Spinel Mid Century Style Platinum Ring
A richly colored emerald step-cut red spinel shines in this gorgeous Mid Century style platinum engagement ring. The vintage spinel has been prong set in a basket head atop a cathedral gallery. Two emerald step-cut diamond side stones flank the spinel, adding radiance with their glittering white color and sparkle. Elegantly pinched shoulders taper back into a wider band. Every element of this astonishing piece is vintage, estate or recycled; it will make a beautiful and unique engagement ring.
Spinels are among the most famous gemstones, such as the Black Prince's Ruby and the "Timur ruby" in the British Crown Jewels and the "Côte de Bretagne" of the French Crown jewels. Like most fiery red stones, spinel is believed to encourage great passion, devotion and longevity.
