This is a unique beauty. A mossy agate doublet sits in the center of a deep purple halo of beautifully cut amethysts with a ring of little natural pearls in a crimped bezel finishing the outside. The brooch had the ability to be worn as the clasp of beaded necklaces, I imagine at one time there were ropes of agates, pearls and amethysts that could be interchanged and worn with this brooch as a lovely centerpiece, The gold tests to 12k and the brooch dates to Circa 1810.
Details.....The brooch measures 1.89" x 1.42". In Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it a part of their charm.
