Refined Black & Brass Georgian Agate Pendant

Black and gold are in dramatic juxtaposition in this refined Georgian pendant. A glossy slab of agate with subtle black striations is set in an elegant bezel of golden colored jewelers brass. The edges of the agate are beveled, a wonderful detail. A modern gold filled chain has been added by our jeweler. Agate jewelry was very popular during the Georgian era. This necklace is a lovely example of the style, and its sleek simplicity provides an interesting example of how antique jewelry has influenced modern jewelry design. Circa 1820.

Details.....Pendant measures 1.36" by 1.61". The adjustable chain measures from 16" to 18" long. In Very Good Antique condition.
