Romantic Marcasite Spangled Rose Ring

Romantic rose ring, spangled with glittering marcasites. The vintage rose is engraved with fine detail, and the marcasites enhance its graceful form. Engraved leaves curl along the shoulders towards the slim band. The body of the ring is rhodium electroplated metal. Circa 1950.

Marcasite is a soft greyish/silver mineral that gained popularity in the late 19th Century and became one of the most popular gems of the Art Deco era. Marcasites are especially lovely set in silver, where their dark sparkle plays nicely with the metal.

Details.....The ring is a size 7. It cannot be sized. The top of the ring measures 16mm by 28mm and the band is 2.3mm wide. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
