A pretty oval the turquoise of a summer sky is surrounded by a dozen old mine diamonds. Each diamond wonderfully unique and chunky is individually claw set in the frame. The setting is a mellow rosey hued gold with sculpted sloping shoulders. The Victorians loved this particular shade of blue, and often used a turquoise glass gems like this one alongside real diamonds. This ring dates from the 1880's.
