A fabulous Santo Domingo clamshell pendant with mosaic inlay. Squares of dreamy blue turquoise, onyx, and mother of pearl compliment the shiny pinkish-mauve shell. A marvelous marriage of natural beauty and exquisite craftsmanship. The shell is drilled at the top and finished with a bale of silver wire. Circa 1980.
This wonderful style of inlaid shell originates with the Kewa Pueblo, previously known as the Pueblo of Santo Domingo, people of New Mexico.
