A shorter version of the classic 19th Century slide chain, this necklace is pretty and versatile. The tiny gold filled curb chain supports a square slide that is set with a rose cut diamond. The wee diamond sits in an incised eight-armed star, in the Victorian fashion. A small watch hook completes the piece. A slide chain is a (typically) long, thin chain with a slide and a watch hook; the slide glides on the chain and stays where you put it. Slide chains were originally designed to hold a ladies watch, you can hang pendants, fobs, lockets, or whatever strikes your fancy from the hook. Ingredients circa 1860-70.
From the Married Chains Collection by Ancient Influences. All of the ingredients in this necklace are recycled and vintage. I love using vintage findings, and am thrilled by the discovery of just the right split ring or hook for a piece.
Details.....The chain is 29" long, the slide measures 6.5mm by 4.4mm and the hook measures 18mm long.
Each item from this line of jewelry is unique and incorporates re-purposed vintage and antique pieces. Small imperfections are to be expected and considered part of their charm.
