This lovely Kalo "puffy" brooch has a secret...a folding bale that transforms the pin into a pendant. Sterling silver has been hand wrought into a stylized dogwood tree. Circa 1930.
Kalo jewelry was well known for making "puffy" pins: slightly convex or "puffed out" saw-pierced forms of chased and repoussé cherries, flowers, pineapples, or arrangements of leaves and vines.
