This 800 silver flower vase motif pendant is set with colorful paste gems, marcasites and half pearls. This pendant's giardinetti or "little garden" motif was a popular one in the 1800s. The elaborate loving cup overflows with pink, green and blue paste-set flowers. A pearl-studded bird hovers above it. Marked 800, the piece would have been made in Continental Europe, where 800 silver was in common use in this period. The pendant hangs from a large silver bale, and the chain is a modern sterling silver replacement. Circa 1860.
Details.....The pendant measures 1.08" wide and 1.96" long, with bale. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on antique jewels, we consider it to be part of their charm.
