The snake is an age old symbol of eternity, and a popular motif in 19th century love token jewels. Snake jewels take many forms, this lovely Victorian ring is a sinuous coiled serpent with sparkling rose cut diamond eyes. A wide, heavy band in an unusually large size. Someone has been waiting for this beauty. The ring is hallmarked for Chester, England, 18ct gold and the year 1899.
