Sleeping Beauty Turquoise & Silver Butterfly Cuff

This bold sterling silver cuff bracelet depicts a stylized butterfly. Stunning Sleeping Beauty turquoise teardrops and needle points are set in hand cut bezels across the top of the three bar cuff. Sculpted silver forms the body and antennae of the butterfly. The lapidary work resembles Zuni petit point, on a larger scale. One piece of turquoise is cracked, it is stable and does not detract from the beauty or wearability of the piece. Circa 1970.

The Sleeping Beauty turquoise mine was one of the largest in American. Its turquoise is noted for its solid, light blue color with no matrix, making it a favorite of Zuni Pueblo lapidaries and silversmiths.

How can you tell if a cuff bracelet is your size? Measure the top of your wrist from side to side and compare with the inside measurement of the cuff. If this bracelet does not fit easily on your wrist it is not your size. Please do not bend or force the cuff, either the cuff or your wrist may be damaged. Details.....The cuff measures 2.19" across the interior. It is 1.19" wide at the front and 0.35" wide at the terminals. In Good Vintage Condition, one piece of turquoise is cracked, it is stable and does not detract from the beauty or wearability of the piece. All vintage items will show some wear, it is considered part of their charm.
