Serpentine Fob with Faux Split Ring
This fascinating Georgian Revival watch fob dates to the late Victorian era. Four knotted, scaled snakes form the double sided body of this fabulous rosy gold filled fob. The base of the fob is engraved with Neoclassical acanthus leaves and scalloping, and set with a plaque of carnelian-colored glass. The fob hangs from an exquisitely engraved ring that resembles a Georgian split ring; this ring, however, is not split. Gorgeous, unusual and in good condition for its age. Circa 1890.
We love for fobs and try to always have a wide selection. They make wonderful pendants and layering pieces.
Details.....Fob measures 1.05" tall and 0.92" by 0.39" at the base. The ring measures 0.80" in diameter. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it a part of their charm.
