Sporty Fishing Fly Double Sided Locket
Many people in the 1920s were very enthusiastic about sports. Physical exercise was a new(ish) interest for many stylish women. As women's fashion and social mores were both relaxing, the vigorous, sporty lady came into vogue. For example, this was the first time in history that sun tans became stylish, thanks to Coco Chanel. Sailing, horseback riding, tennis and, in this case, fishing were all interests depicted in popular jewels of the era. This double-sided pendant locket displays an actual tiny hand tied fishing fly. The panes are glass, the frame and chain are gold filled. Colorful, interesting and utterly charming. Circa 1920.
Details.....The pendant measures 1.0" across, and the modern chain is 22" long. In Very Good Antique condition. You should always expect some wear on a vintage or antique jewel, we consider it part of the charm.
