Absolutely out of this world, this incredible sapphire and diamond brooch is stellar. A six-pointed star sits at the center of a "target" made of three open work concentric circles, all cast in rhodium-plated 18k white gold. A gorgeous oval sapphire sits at the heart of the star. Each of the star's points are set with a smaller round sapphire at their tips. Sixty-two little round diamonds trace the sparkling lines of the brooch's geometric shapes. The prong-set stones are all open backed, and fine engraved detail finishes the piece. The brooch secures with a hinged pin that branches into two pins and locks securely into place. Sumptuous with subtle industrial notes, as we see in the best of Retro design. Circa 1940.
