The design of this striking Mid Century panel necklace echoes through time. The sterling silver panels are openwork rectangles of curling leaves, inspired by a Georg Jensen pattern that was very popular in the 1940s. The Jensen pattern was informed by the important Art Nouveau movement of the late Victorian era, with its stylized natural forms. The Art Nouveau aesthetic was influenced by, amongst other things, the tapestries and illuminated manuscripts of Medieval art. A wonderful juxtaposition of the timeless and the specific. The panels are linked by oval rings, and the necklace is finished with cable chain and a slide clasp. Beautiful in so many ways. Circa 1950.

Details.....The necklace is 17.5" long, each panel measures 0.77" by 1.23". In Very Good Vintage Condition. Small imperfections are to be expected and are considered part of the charm.
