Stunning Antique Amethyst Rivière Necklace

A stunning Victorian rivière necklace of graduated amethysts. The lovely, fresh lilac color of the gems is soft and feminine. The faceted oval cut amethysts are held in six-prong, 850 grade silver settings; the settings are open backed and light weight, they highlight the gems beautifully. The settings are linked by silver rings, graduating from smallest at the back of the neck to largest in the front. The necklace fastens with a gem-set slide clasp. Everything about this piece is gorgeous, and it's wearable and versatile, too. Circa 1860.

Details.....The necklace is 17.5" long. The amethysts graduate from 7.6mm by 10.2mm to 10mm by 14.2mm. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces, we consider it a part of their charm.
