This stunning French locket brooch is ready to display a beloved photograph or miniature painting, and it looks amazing worn just as it is. An 18k oval frame of twisted wire and gold balls hold the original pane of glass and black fabric backing. The long brooch pin indicates this is an earlier piece, and the pin stem bears the French hallmark for 18k gold. Black and gold is a favorite combination, eternally chic. Circa 1850.
