Superb Victorian Crystal Locket with Gold & Enamel Overlay

This Victorian locket is superb, absolutely stunning. Two domed ovals of rock crystal are set in a hinged 18k gold frame. One side of the locket is caged within a trellis-like gold overlay. The gold overlay has a trefoil and arrow design highlighted with glossy black enamel. The other side of the locket currently holds an oval piece of original purple fabric. The locket is deep enough to hold pictures, love poems and a lock of hair. It feels like a precious rock crystal egg. The locket opens and closes perfectly, the crystals on both sides are in good condition and there are some losses to the enamel. The decorative bale is wide enough to accommodate your favorite chains. Circa 1850.

Details.....The locket measures 1.53" by 1.13" and is 0.60" thick. The bale is 0.47" by 0.14". The locket weighs 29 grams. In Very Good Antique condition, there is some loss to the enamel. You should always expect some wear on Vintage and Antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
