Superb Victorian Rock Crystal & Engraved Gold Locket

A superb Victorian rock crystal locket banded in engraved gold. The crystal is nearly egg-shaped, split down the middle, and set in a hinged 14k gold frame. Both sides of the locket are transparent, so whatever you choose to save in it will be displayed from all angles. An acanthus leaf motif is incised crisply around the frame. A jump ring has been added to the bale, making it easy to wear this special piece on one of our Ancient Influences married chains. Perfect for preserving a picture, lock of hair, butterfly wing, pressed flower, or whatever (flat) sentimental object you treasure. Circa 1860.

Details: The locket measures 1" by .63" by 1.22", 1.43" with bale. In Very Good Antique Condition. Small imperfections are to be expected and considered part of their charm.
