Taxco Sterling Silver Tube Bangle Bracelet
Extremely cool sterling silver tube bracelet. We wore loads of these in the 80s, though this is far nicer than any I owned in those days. The bracelet is stamped Mexico, 925 and with the identification number TP-104. The "T" stands for Taxco, the "P" is the initial of the artist's first or last name and the "104" is the maker's registration number. This bangle has a nice weight, it is so sleek and simple and the stamps give it a slightly industrial edge. Circa 1980.
In the 20th Century, Taxco, Mexico drew jewelry artists from all over the world. The main attraction for the designers and studio jewelers was the locally mined supply of materials, silver and semi precious gems were abundant and affordable.
Details.....The bangle measures 4.2mm wide with a 7.75" inner circumference. In Excellent Vintage Condition. You should expect some wear on all vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of its charm.
