Seven stunning cushion shaped old mine cut diamonds cover the top of this diamond ring. The diamonds are set in silver pie crust settings atop an 18k rose gold band. The whiteness of these old diamonds is wonderful and unusual, most of the diamonds from this era were cape stones and showed a bit of yellow. The ring was likely closed back when originally made in the 1810 to 1820s period, it is not uncommon to see these late Georgian rings with their backs opened and foils removed to let more light in. This gives them great sparkle in electric light and candle light.
