When you look at this cupcake of a diamond it draws you into another world. Light plays beautifully thru the facets and open culet of the cushion shaped old mine cut diamond. Its like these old stones have a spirit, each one was hand cut following the original octahedral of it's raw formation and that shape is apparent in the squoval (squared oval) shape of the finished Diamond.

This antique beauty would have been quite the luxury in the 19th century and I can imagine the joy of the woman who called it hers. Set simply in a 6 prong claw solitaire to better show off the fabulous gem, this rare beauty is All Original circa 1870.

The gold tests to 17k on a modern machine, they were likely aiming for 18k but as each Jeweler alloyed their own metals in their workshops it is not unusual for them to be a smidge off.

This ring comes with an insurance replacement cost appraisal. The appraisal is done by an independent gem lab. The appraised value is $9300.

Diamond Details.....The center diamond is 1.33cts, Old Mine Cut SI1-J/K.

Details.....Currently a size 6, one free sizing is included with the purchase. The diamond measures 7.1mm x 6.22mm at the top. And 2.3mm at the side of the band. Excellent Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
