The Perfectly Imperfect Cushion OMC Diamond Ring

The chunky culet of this squoval mine cut diamond reflects the shape of the stone and the table shows it to its best advantage. I love old mine diamonds, each one cut to its own unique shape which often reflects the original rough octahedral crystal formation. The belcher style setting lets the diamond be the center of attention with ten claw-like prongs holding the diamond in their embrace. The color of the old gold is that perfect mellow shade, with the groove showing a light pink bloom. Circa 1870, 14k.
