Three-Stone Ring with Natural Cambodian Sapphire
This gorgeous Edwardian three-stone ring centers a marvelous natural Cambodian sapphire. The cushion cut sapphire is flanked by two sparkling brilliant cut diamonds. The gems are all set in six-prong platinum heads, displaying the stones to maximum advantage. The sleek, gently tapered body of the ring is 14k yellow gold. This would make a romantic engagement ring; three-stone rings have been popular since the mid 1800s and are said to represent three little words: I Love You. Circa 1900.
This ring comes with an insurance replacement cost appraisal. The appraisal is done by an independent gem lab. The appraised value is $3200.
Diamond Details.....The sapphire is a 0.63ct cushion shape mixed cut, moderately included (M1) with medium, moderately strong, violetish blue color (vB 5/4). The flanking diamonds are round early modern brilliant cuts with 0.50tcw, I1 clarity and H-I color. The sapphire comes with a GIA report that attributes the origin of the gem to Cambodia and finds no evidence of heat treatment.
