Unique European Silver & Enamel Chatelaine-Style Fob

This European chatelaine-style fob is 800 grade silver enameled in brillliant colors. The fob's top is a silver disc; the front is enameled with a bright green four leaf clover, the back is modeled after the House of Hapsburg's St. George Thaler coin, representing St. George slaying the dragon. Four smaller discs hang on a curb chain fringe. Each disc bears a unique image: a swallow flying over water, a violet, a fanciful letter M and the word "Moi," and a love token with a rooster ringed with a French legend that translates (roughly) to, "When the rooster sings then my friendship will end." The piece hangs from a watch hook, allowing you to hang this very personal jewel anywhere you like. Circa 1900.

Details.....This piece is 5.5" long, the coin measures .68" in diameter, the bottom discs are .52" in diameter. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of their charm.
