A gorgeous Victorian book chain with bold and graphic links. Alternating gold filled plaques of two different designs are linked with light and airy wire work. A decorative bolt ring allows for versatility. Hang your favorite pendant, locket or fob from the drop, remove the drop and hang ornaments directly from the bolt ring or simply wear the chain on its own. So many fun and pretty options with this antique necklace. Circa 1880. 

The term "book chain" comes from the folded flat links' resemblance to the cover of a book. It is also said these flat chains were often used to mark a place in a book. 

Details..... The chain is 19" long and 10.5mm wide. The bolt ring measures 15.5mm and the drop is 1.1" long. In Very Good antique condition. In vintage and antique pieces small imperfections are to be expected and considered part of their charm.
