This beautiful and strangely sensual bracelet was made by Ana Nunez Brilanti, the artist known to collectors of Mexican silver as Victoria. Sterling silver panels depict, in relief, a design inspired by Pre-Columbian motifs. The panels are gently curved and linked by silver rings, creating a comfortable fit around the wrist. The bracelet has an integrated slide clasp and a safety chain for added security. The back of this piece is marked "STERLING" and signed "VICTORIA MEXICO TAXCO." It is also stamped 67, the number identifying the piece's design, and the Mexican eagle mark indicating sterling silver. Wonderfully constructed and supple, with a glossy patina. This wearable piece looks fabulous with anything, and it will make an exciting edition to any jewelry collection.

This piece dates from the 1940s, a high point in silver jewelry design in Mexico. The Mexican city of Taxco drew jewelry artists from all over the world. Ana Nunez Brilanti was one of Taxco's most important artists. Brilanti was a fascinating woman. As a child in Mexico City she worked with Diego Rivera on his murals. Eleanor Roosevelt was a customer and a fan of her jewelry. Her work was informed by Pre-Columbian art as well as Modernist design. A chapter is devoted to her in the important reference book Mexican Silver by Morrill and Berk.

Details.....The bracelet measures 6.25" long and 0.75" wide. In Excellent Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces, we consider it part of the charm.
