This classically Victorian Book Chain Necklace has a heavy ornate cameo set Locket suspended from it. One of the wonderful things about these chains is the many ways in which they can be worn. You can wear it as it is, you can remove the locket and suspend another pendant from it, or you can remove the tail and the locket and wear it simply on its own. And if you want to wear it just a bit longer you can add the drop chain in at the back of the necklace and you have a 19.5" fancy chain. Versatility! Book chains got their name for the style of their links, which look like the covers of a book, it is also said that since they were flat, ladies would use them on occasion to mark their place in a book. This one has its original photos, of a lady and a gentleman, they can be removed upon request
