We believe this lovely cameo resembles the great Romantic poet Byron. The hardstone cameo has been carved using the stone's color bands to excellent effect. The cameo is framed by a twisted gold rope edge set above a grooved, flat band. The 14k gold setting is engraved with a faint trace of initials on the backside of the cameo. This ring has so many wonderful details. Circa 1860.
