Victorian Gold Fill Garnet & Pearl Slide Chain

A lovely an versatile Victorian slide chain necklace. The oval slide is set with three wee pearls and a tiny garnet cabochon. The slide runs along a long, gold filled trace chain; the color of the metal is a mellow antique rosy gold color. The chain is finished with a small watch hook. Slide chains were originally meant to hold a small ladies' watch. It may still be used for this, of course, but these chains may be worn in many ways. It may be doubled for a shorter look and you can hang pendants, fobs, lockets, or whatever strikes your fancy from the hook. Circa 1890.

Details.....The chain is 42" long, the links are 1.5mm wide, and the slide measures 6.3mm by 10.5mm. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on your vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of their charm.
