Covered in hand engraving and filigree pierce work the beautiful basket style setting holds a 1/2 carat white sparkling diamond. A basket mounting from the early 20th century is so named because of the ornate basket like head in which the diamond is set. An added bonus to the beauty of this type of setting is the fact that it is extra sturdy and secure, the diamond being nestled in the basket and set flush with the top. Circa 1910, Edwardian.
