This is one very unusual locket. The shape of this locket is referred to as "Coffin" for obvious reasons, it was popular for about 20 years from 1900-1920. This locket isn't just unusual because of its shape, on the inside of the locket is a picture of a young man in full ski gear and on the opposite side is an address. The address 654 E. 17 N. is a Brooklyn address, the former home of Dr. Funk, of Funk and Wagnalls, Funk was obsessed with spiritualism and mediums, so this locket being a coffin shape with his address in it makes it a bit interesting. The front is engraved with initials in the Japonesque style popular in the early 20th c. Sterling Silver Circa 1910-20.
Details.....The Locket measures .64" by .83". Chain measures 16" long. Very good Vintage condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces, we consider it part of the charm.
